My friend Alex Farrill and I just applied for Paul Graham's
Y Combinator summer founders program, a sort of summer camp for technology startups.

From our application:
What's new about what you're doing?Posting this here, my writing suddenly sounds so full of shit. And I was so proud of my application when I submitted it 5 minutes ago! We're only hackers because that's what it takes to make the tools we need. Right now there are tools we need that don't exist, and we hear our friends bemoaning their absence (not in so many words) all the time. We're busy as hell and want to solve these problems so we can use them to get on with our lives.
What do you understand about your business that other companies in it just don't get?
If users don't understand within 10 seconds what our product is, and in 30 seconds how our product would fit into their lives, we won't have any more users. The demo starts from the moment the user clicks on our url, and if it doesn't sell my mother, it doesn't sell.
We hear back by February 21. Wish us luck!
